Washington, DC — On Thursday, August, 9, 2018, leading Latino voices will be announcing the re-launch of Hispanics for a Fair Judiciary, an organization dedicated to providing Latinos across the nation with a platform and voice in matters related to our nation’s judicial system. Spurred by President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, the Latino community is rising to inform the national conversation, call out the importance of the U.S. Supreme Court on the lives of American Latinos, and elevate diverse voices on the most pressing legal issues facing our nation today.
As part of the launch, Latinos from the political, advocacy, and legal worlds will be sharing their unique perspectives about how federal courts dictate outcomes on topics ranging from immigration to reproductive rights, underscoring the significance of the Kavanaugh nomination to the Latino community.
