Latinos for a Fair Judiciary Will Lead Events Highlighting SCOTUS Nominee Concerns During Week of Nomination Hearings
Key Latino Leaders Available for Comment on Kavanaugh Nomination
Washington, D.C. — As the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee begins nomination hearings on U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Latinos for a Fair Judiciary (LFJ) will be hosting two key events aimed at drawing attention to the dire impact his confirmation would have on the Latino community.
Besides the fact that nondisclosure of Kavanaugh’s full records renders the hearings entirely premature, LFJ is deeply troubled by the Judge’s views on immigration, voting rights, and racial justice. As a network of Latino elected officials, legal, civil rights, labor, and academic leaders committed to raising awareness around the impact federal courts and judges have on the Latino community, LFJ will be on the frontlines during the nomination hearings to make sure our voices and concerns are heard.
LFJ will participate in the following events and have experts available for media appearances during the hearing days:
Date: Tuesday, September 4th
Event: LFJ mobilizes for a national call-in day. Our partners across the country will call elected officials to share concerns with Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
